Opayo (formerly known as Sage Pay), one of the UK’s most trusted payment providers, provide simple, flexible and secure payments. The payment solution company were looking for a brand refresh to be developed digitally through a sparkling relaunch.

The Challenge

Initially the partnership between Sage Pay and Riverr began as a digital refresh, where the aim was to hunt down and regain market share whilst also making the site more manageable and effective.

The partnership was a success, and Sage Pay turned to Riverr for an even bigger challenge – an entire overhaul of their brand after they were acquired by Elavon, a big name in payments and a subsidiary of U.S. Bank. Opayo was the new name and a digital relaunch was necessary.

The Solution

Over the years, Riverr and Opayo’s relationship has gone from strength to strength. Riverr begun building individual modules and widgets with different functionality to allow Opayo to manage the build of their own web pages. Throughout their journey Riverr has made the management process simpler and more efficient to enable Opayo’s team to focus on what mattered to them – building their market share.

In January 2020, when Sage Pay was renamed Opayo, it triggered the start of a rebrand of the entire site. Working closely with the Sage Pay Branding Agency, Riverr carried out the design across both the UK and Republic of Ireland websites for a July 2020 launch.

The Results

Cutting through the chaos and coming back to those who value you already resonates with current and potential customers, and the increases in site traffic demonstrated that. Over 100% increases in leads and session times reflected the site’s worth as well as the company’s. The digital refresh and consequently relaunch of the brand of Opayo showed the strength of their partnership with Riverr.
